Sheltering
Arms Senior Services is a nonprofit, United Way agency that
has served the needs of seniors and their families since 1893. Sheltering
Arms Senior Services promotes and preserves the dignity and independence
of Houston’s elderly through the most comprehensive array
of quality, affordable services for the elderly and caregivers in
the Greater Houston Metropolitan area.
Sheltering Arm’s Senior Services programs support research
showing that an elder’s greatest fear is being institutionalized
– and a caregiver’s greatest need is for specific, accurate
information and education about the options available to help ensure
the well-being of an elderly loved one.
Relying on a staff of professional counselors, the
organization’s goals are:
- To help employees find quality elder care, locally and
nationwide
- To ensure access to community resources for elder care
services
- To increase the amount of quality education and information
available to employees on elder care options
- To improve the quality of care and preserve dignity for
elders in the community
As a primary partner in Corporate HANDS, Sheltering Arms Senior
Services develops elder care programs to serve the needs of corporate
members, their employees and the community.
