Most elder relatives want to remain as active and independent as possible. A caregiver’s top concern becomes finding quality providers to meet constantly changing levels of care. Finances and long-distance arrangements can create additional complications. The stress of these responsibilities often impacts the caregiver’s well being, through symptoms such as physical strain, chronic fatigue, family conflict and depression.

Corporate HANDS provides answers to the question, “What do I do now?” Specific elder care programs are developed to reflect the needs and concerns of employee caregivers. Current services include:

Consultation & Referral

  • In-depth, personalized consultations about elder care concerns provided by professionals
  • Customized referrals outlining each service needed, including eligibility, application procedures, costs and other critical information
  • Educational resources, including an elder care handbook with more than 30 critical issues related to caring for an older loved one
  • Brown Bag Seminars presented to employees on over 22 critical elder care issues

Caregiver Fairs

  • Organized events held at the corporate member’s work site
  • Access to 30-40 elder care providers
  • Educational materials available for employees about elder care topics

Quality Enhancement Conference

  • Training sessions for staff members who work directly with the elderly
  • Recognition to promote retention and a sense of pride in direct care staff
  • Training of 150 direct care workers each year through the program
